I am really excited to kick-start this new era with you guys.

First of all, thank you for subscribing to this special mailing list, I know it’s a bit of an old-school thing that nobody really cares about anymore, but you still chose to subscribe to support me - and that means sooooo much to me!

Ever since I finished recording “Wicked Seventeen“, I have been non-stop exploring my artistry, discovering new sounds and ways of telling stories because that is ultimately the passion that keeps me alive. And today, I want to introduce you to a song I wrote a while back - it’s called “A Call Away”.

It’s a bittersweet, dreamy, synth-driven sound with somber, heavy and a tiny bit gory lyrics. There’s a lyric about being hit with a knife again (circling back to ‘Same Old Mistakes’).  

The support you have shown for the previous projects have inspired me a lot, hearing your experiences that you had with my music is always a fuel that ignites my passion for what I do even more. I have seen playlists being dedicated to lovers by hopeless romantics with the lyrics of “Visceral Romanticization” and the “The Night Out“, I have been reached out by someone who sat and listened to “Same Old Mistakes“ after a self-destructive episode to comfort themselves and all of these oftentimes heartbreaking happenstances just remind me why I started making music in the first place: to comfort and to inspire.

Ever since I was a kid I had this fascination about music and poetry and back in 2019, I started making music for the first time out of a need for a space where I can just explode and let it all out. I was going through a very depressing period back then, I was pretty self-destructive and completely devoid of any hope that a one can have for the future. All I was feeling was an immense, non-stop pain that often-times manifested itself in physical pain as well. Thankfully, after a long journey of professional psychiatric help, medications and introspective work I started to see the beauty in life again, and that’s when I decided to start a completely new chapter in my life and as well as my musical journey.

I came up with the name Fausteir and the main shift in the focus was that I wanted to make music that interprets the beauty of life through my lenses, rather than documenting my pain as I did previously. I want to inspire people to see beyond their pain, discover themselves and love the depths that they have discovered within themselves, because at the end of the day, you are all you truly got and everything that you need is within you. All the heartbreak that you have been through, all the tough situations that you had to deal with, all the pain that the life has inflicted on you - it’s all temporary. It’s all a lesson for you to power through in the journey of finding your inner peace - because that is all what life is about. The journey is always going to be there and you can only embrace it.

Which brings me to this song - A Call Away.

I never really write songs about anyone - that was a big promise that I made for myself in the beginning of this journey. I have written so many love songs - this one included, but I always make sure that it is mostly about my experience and my narrative rather than focusing on a single subject, and this song is about a very specific feeling that I experience every time there is someone in my life that makes my heart rush at the sight of them. I wanted to share a part of the lyrics here with you for your own interpretation.
