FAUSTEIR
I think about colors and world-building a lot whenever I am onto a new project.
I just think there is something so beautiful in approaching your music as an architect, crafting soundscapes and building universes that all work towards the thesis statement of an album, a mixtape, an EP, or even a single.
As I mentioned on my previous email, during “Wicked Seventeen“ writing sessions, I have done a lot of introspection and in the end of it, I have gained a new perspective on world, one that’s always focused on seeking the beauty in every situation life throws your way. It’s in the gold hues of a sunrise, it’s in the aquamarine of the waves crashing to the shore, it’s in the purple of a sunset, and through the upcoming projects, starting with the first single (released on 16th August), the main focus is to interpret that beauty to my art.
A Call Away - the next single in it’s surface level is a very heartbreaking tale about a toxic connection that you can’t quite break through because of a developed soft spot for the other party. The song in itself is very aware of that, but if you take a deeper dive with the instrumentations, it’s almost celebratory of that soft spot. To me the song is about celebration of being able to feel strong feelings, even if it is to your detriment sometimes. Allowing yourself to be vulnerable enough to let an emotion absorb you, because at the end of the day, it is all those experiences that really add value to your life, shapes the person that you are.
The song’s personal purpose was more about reclaiming all that energy that toxic connection took off of me. Being able to proudly say that “all that endless love that i have within me is mine to share, and all the hurt that you have gave me is mine to turn into power“. I think this is a practice that a lot of people should take on to.
So there I welcome you to the new era of mine, with “A Call Away“ being the first gate towards the world that I have been building. You can pre-save the song from this link".
Lots and lots of love,
Fausteir.
